Reflective writing about art

Coromandel beach

Today we went to art we painted a beach. After Mrs Young said the instructions I immediately got straight to work. I was excited because I love art and I always try my best. First I sketched the beach and the lovely

Pohutukawa tree. Next I quickly asked Mrs Young if I could paint she said yes. So I got straight to work without talking. I carefully painted trying to not go over the edge.

MY SUPERMAN Grandad!

Do you have a person that you trust and who will always be there for you? Well, guess what, I have such a special person. He’s hairless and when I look at his head it shimmers like a mirror. His eyes are shaped like leaves. I see hands wrinkly like scrunched paper. He has a TONGAN tattoo on both hands and his ankle. Whenever I look at it, I smile, because it reminds me of......a picture I drew for him. My special person is my..... MY grandad!

My grandads name is Ifa but I call him SUPERMAN!! My grandad Ifa loves to play all the time. He comes to babysit me and my siblings, on the weekend from 8am-6pm. That’s a lot of time that he spends with us. He’s fun to laugh with because he tells us hilarious jokes. He also loves to take us out to the movies and to Ambury farm. He loves to cook yummy dishes. I love his cooking so much that when I smell his cooking it makes my tummy rumble. I think he should be on Hell’s kitchen, or maybe not, because its HELL!!. My favourite dish is his roast chicken.

My grandad is interested in my life because he says, “How was school today?” My grandad is well mannered because he says, “Maya could bring the salt and pepper please.” Sometimes when I wake up from a long sleep he says, “Did you have a good sleep?” or, “How did you sleep?”

If someone had a deal with me to exchange my grandad for all the money in the whole universe. I will say...NO, because I LOVE him!

Sharad Paul

Today Sharad Paul came to Chapel Downs to talk to the year six’s about writing and being an author. “WOW!”. The year six’s were very lucky to be meeting a famous author. We asked him questions like, “Do you believe in UFO’s?” That was an AKWARD question! Another question was, “How long does it take to write one book? Sharad Paul has many jobs like:

*A surgeon
*An author

He also has a Law degree.

Details about him......
He has one child.
He is a dad.
His favorite sport is table tennis and cricket and soccer .

Sharad Paul gave us special advice. He said we should make our work fun and make fun work. He also told us about the ten thousand hour rule. This means that anything you want to do well takes practice.

So remember to follow his advice so you can become an author like him one day and visit his bookshop Barci for a cup of coffee and a nice book to read.
